Apples And More

We had a lovely long weekend here in NYC.
(Thank you, Jews.)

We spent one day in upstate around ( and in) Ossining.

First was apple picking.  Do you think Simon has enough?

Daddy knew exactly what you were supposed to do with apples.

It turned out to be quite a social affair.  We knew our friends Brooke, Faride, and Phoenyx might show up, which they did.  We had Phoenyx's birthday gift with us, she enjoyed opening it.  And in a wonderful coincidence, as we pulled up we spotted Simon's very good friend Sam (with his family of course) so they basically had free run of the orchard.

After lots of picking, there was a bit of hiking.  Daddy wasn't so sure that Simon and Mama understood that we were hiking and not on stage.  It was a nice hike, though Simon and Mama were both a bit sick so we didn't go as far as we planned.

Then our day ending with a lovely little waterfront restaurant on the Hudson.
This was the view from our table.

We went apple picking too. The kids acted like they were in a candy shop with my credit card. ;) Hilarious. And we love fish too--have fun!
