Happy Beach Bum

Simon so loved the beach at Rangeley lake that we spent the morning at Coney Island. He was thrilled with the waves and kept going back in the water for more. (Notice the Arizona shirt! Simon just celebrated his first 'Gotcha Day' on the 27th.)

Rangeley Maine Vacation

We just got back from our first of two vacations in Maine. We spent a week in Rangeley on a beautiful lake nestled in mountains. It was pretty spectacualr. From the pictures below yo uwill think all we did was hike- but actually we spent a lot of time at the lake beach which Simon thought was heaven. Watch for video of the coming soon.

Uncle Robert carried Simon through the lupine.

Simon took his first steps on the AT and even met a through hiker.

Daddy decided that he was not going to hike the whole AT carrying Simon. Some hikers packs weigh quite a bit less then Simon, and Will would have had to bring diapers too.

Early July

We go to a lovely local playground full of fabulous toys- Simon likes to play in the dirt.

We got to preview the newly renovated Liberty Science Center. It was cool. Here Simon is being a microbe.

Here Simon and Daddy learn about currents.

Fun in June

Grandpa Don, Will, Simon and friends play in a tots playground.

Simon is the life of the party at "Hooray! School's Out!" party for the teachers at Julia's school.
We think it was the diaper that made him so popular.

We had a lovely time at family reunion at Peter and Erica's apartment.
It wasn't actually a reunion because for most of us it was the first time two branches of the family met after 60+ years!

Just the two best boys in Julia's world!

Hooray for Rochester

Simon had a seriously good time on our recent vacation to Rochester.
(Julia and Will enjoyed the chance to relax too!)

Here he is in the pool.
OK- that's a baby pool.
He did spend a lot of time in the big pool too, but we only seem to have that on video.

Grandma Sue shows Simon her favorite animal at the zoo.

Mama and Simon loved the merry-go-round at the Strong Museum of Play.
(If you have children and are ever with in 100 mile of Rochester you must go.)

Playing in the 'sand' at the museum.

At the Bronx Zoo: The Children's Zoo

Simon fed the goat once, but that was enough.
