Windy Walk

February Break

Lots of things happened over February break, we only have pictures of some of them.

Not pictured- Simon soent three glorious days at BAX performing arts camp. He loved it and will be returning in the summer. Mama did tons of work for school, her school is going thorugh a VERY important review on the 28th and 29th- please think positive thoughts for her then. Daddy ran very fast. He set a PR of 7:09 minute miles in a 4 mile race.

And now the pictures…

We met Zeke! The newest member of Will's family. He is charming and his big sister Virginia and Simon had a ton of fun playing in Mountain Lakes.

We had a lovely trip to the Bronx Zoo. A little weird because it is mid-february and it was 60 degrees. There is an ostrich in this photograph- look hard.

We went on a wonderful super windy walk at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Simon discovered the zoom feature on the camera. Sigh.

And… We made blue rice crispy treats. Why, you ask? Because we could.

Missing!

While there is plenty of food on Simon's face- if you look carefully you'll see something is missing.

7 Birthdays

There are 7 students with birthdays in February in Simon's class. 7! Here they all are- left to right- Farwa, Julia, (little sister) Phoebe, Luke, Ava, Simon, and Sam. We all agreed that one big bash instead of 7 would be better so that is what the parents did. Pizza and cupcakes and special books made the day super fun- not to mention it was also Valentines day and the 100th day of school.

There is a big celebration on the 100th day of school.

The students make projects using 100 of something. Simon made an alien with 100 eyes and 100 pieces of colorful puffy hair.

It was pretty great.

Birthday Song

Yup. He's really 6 now. Last night as Simon got into the bath he said, "Wow. This is my first bath as a 6 year old!"

Party Magician

The best part of this video is the look on Simon's face at the end.

(It is important to know that right before we started taping the magician put one red clown nose in to Simon's hand.)

A Quick Birthday Blog

Incentives

Simon really likes incentives.  Tonight, in an effort to get him to eat the healthy food at dinner, I told him that after every bite he took I would give him a math problem to do.  It worked.
