Strange Miracles

If you go back to April 2009 on this blog you can read a little bit about our trip to Heifer Ranch in Arkansas to visit Don and Jean as they volunteered there.  You will also read about the memory card that was dropped and searched for in vain.  We were so sad to loose the pictures.

But miracles do happen.  Today, doing something useful down deep in the computer hutch Will spotted it- sitting right on the rug.

So now- years late….
We give you Heifer Ranch!

There were lots of animals to look at- especially baby ones!

Lots of flowers to smell.

Easter eggs to dye.

Little jumpy baby lambs to pretend to be.

Dreams of a presidency to be had.  (Not really.)

Fun science museums to play in.

More jumpy baby lambs in mid-air!

Paths to walk.

Christmas Day

Simon was pretty excited by the time we got to Aunt Lisi and Uncle Ropbert's house Christmas Morning.  Yay for stockings!

Is it only our child that gets this excited over gum?

And presents...

And books and books and books...

Simon got try out some his presents right away- his mini ice cream maker was a hit.

As was connect four.

We had a traditional Christmas dinner and enjoyed being a family together.

Christmas Eve

We had a lovely Christmas Eve in Mountain Lakes!

Santa came to visit a party we were enjoying.  There were also disco lights ina downstairs playroom, it was hard to tell which made Simon more excited.

It snowed!

And we took a 10 PM swim.  A good way to burn off energy.  Simon slept from 11:15 to 6:30 so it wasn't too bad this year.

Simon's Holiday Presentation

The few words we missed were, "My holiday is Christmas.  It is celebrated by Americans."

Enjoy!

School Event

We went to special multi-cultural celebration in Simon's class today!
Here's the whole class and teacher, Ms. Gorman.
There are 25 of them and only 24 squares so Simon was sitting off the rug, he says usually they sit in different places but this was wear she wanted them to sing.

Here is Simon mid song-

Video of his public speaking part will be up soon.

Happy!

Why is Simon so happy?

Because he is about to go to the Nutcracker with Uncle Peter and Aunt Erica!

As you would expect, Simon loved it.  He told us all about it for the whole rest of the day.
 What a wonderful gift!

More Help With The Tree

Simon continued to be a big help with the tree today, he vacuumed up needles...

He cut off the webbing...

He acted goofy….

And he hung up lots of ornaments.

It was a very nice day.
(Tomorrow- The Nutcracker!)

Help With The Tree

Simon was much more helpful this year as we picked out our tree- he pushed it all the way home.  (Will took it across streets.)

Here Come The Holidays

At the K's annual Christmsa party (last weekend) the big hit was the new puppy.  Simon and Gin seemed smitten with each other.  Simon is hoping desperately that we will visit Gin often.

And this weekend we celebrated Chanukah!

Present galore...

Latkas galore...

Sarah hosted fabulously in her 1 bedroom apartment- a Chunukah miracle if there ever was one.

Whatever holiday you and yours are celebrating I hope you have as much faun as we did at these special gatherings.

(Sorry that the pictures weren't the best quality- I think that the flash was off on the camera and I never bothered to turn it on.)
