A few more Maine Pics

Simon and Grandpa Steve had a good time at the top of Mt Battie.

And Simon and Daddy had a good time rolling down the big hill to the harbor!

The Long Awaited Sleepover in Mountain Lakes

We had a fun-filled sleepover in Mountain Lakes. After dinner there was cupcake baking.

There were lots and lots of tickles from Uncle Robert.

Where is Uncle Robert anyway?

And there was serious skepticism about Mama's craft skills. Who could do it better than Aunt Lisi?

Sesame Place Again!

We went back to Sesame Place to use the second day of our tickets from June, and though it was much more crowded we had a great time again. And Simon had this hysterical interaction with Elmo.

Simon was very excited to see Elmo but didn't seem to want to get too close.

Elmo slowly inched over closer, Simon started to lean away (smiling the whole time), so Elmo leaned over too.

Then a big hug!

After a very full 6 hours (yes, 6!) of rides, water, slides, bounces, parades, and more- we tail-gated dinner. It was a lovely end to a lovely day.

More more more more Maine

And to top off all the excitement- Grandma Sue and Grandpa Steve came too!

Simon had a wealth of grandparents.

Julia, Will, and Grandpa Steve got to hike.

Thanks Maine! We had a great time!

The evening we got back to Brooklyn Simon said, "When I am big I'm going to share my house with everybody." We asked, "Where will your house be?" "Oh, in Camden."

Went to the Union fair!

We were there on the first day so Simon got several rides to himself.

And we weatched sheep get shorn.

More more Maine

Exploring lobster traps. (Simon is thinking, "Really? Grandma Jean was put in one of these as her playpen?")

Visiting the famous cows.

Crafts in and out of the gazebo.

Enjoying a field of flowers.

More Maine

Other fun things...
Playing with puppets at the Camden library.

Having a water fight with Papa Don.

Feeding the ducks in Camden Harbor.

Trying out the see-saw at Lake Megunticook. Simon liked it better than the look on his face in this picture!

Maine in '09

Most people go to Maine for the lobsters- Simon enjoyed the dogs!
This is Moose. Moose was very tolerant.

This is Sophie. Sophie is 3 1/2 months old. She and Simon were rolling around together just like... well, just like two puppies!

Not pictured were Lulu and Teddy who met Simon on Beech Hill. Simon even got to hold Lulu's leash as we walked down.

One night we went to a Democratice Fundraiser Lobster Bake- that happened to be at one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. Simon and Daddy enjoyed the dock at sunset.

Simon found lots of periwinkles on the wood.

Cape Cod in '09

We had a great trip that started in Cape Cod. Peter and Erica were wonderful hosts of whom we seem to have taken no pictures. But here is a very happy boy eating pasta. (He also ate the clams, scallops, mussels, and squid that came in the sauce!)

We went to Coast Guard beach with our friends Alex, Heather, Zac, and Kayla. To get to the beach you need to take a shuttle bus- Simon really like the bus. Here we are waiting.

And then we played and played. It was a perfect beach day. Simon and Kayla thought so too. (Kayla is five. She weighs at least twelve pounds less than Simon.)

Makin' Pizza!

We decided to experiment with making our own pizza.
Simon worked very hard on his bit of dough.

Sauce was spread. (Notice the odd shape of the adult made pizza.)

Is it spaceship pizza? A mommy ameoba with her baby?
We do not know. But we ate it!

August Fun

Simon had his first power lunch. (OK- it was with Sarah and Schnipper's is hardly a 'power' place, but he did get to go to Manhattan, and then walk Sarah part way back to her office.)

We also found a great playground in Central Park.

Today was Rui's 2nd Birthday! (Rui is Thijs' little brother- Thijs is one of Simon's best friends.) There was lots of fun in the sprinklers. Simon is holding hands with Charlie- another good friend.
