Everybody Runs!

(ok not everybody- not Mama- but...)

Both Simon and Daddy were in races today. Simon's was about 150' and Daddy's was 4 miles.

We had a sign for each of them. Daddy forgot his watch and so didn't really know how fast he was going- he finished with exactly 8 minute miles. He would have probably gone slower if he'd known, but still, it makes him seem pretty cool!

Simon enjoyed his race too- we are very proud of him!
Sorry about the poor quality of picture- we only had cell phones.

Cherry Blossoms

Don't boughs of cherry blossoms make you want to twirl and dance too?

Simon made sure he know exactly where we were going.

Hooray!

And for the Rochester Grandlarents- Lilacs! He kept making silly looking smiles- this was in response to my saying, "Look handsome!"

Simon looks out the car window

While we were stuck in traffic driving to school today, I heard Simon say, "Kuh. Cray. Craaay. Puh.... Crepe.... Crap." I wondered if I had uttered an expletive without realizing it. Then I saw a horizonal sign by a garage:
P
A
R
K
Which, if read bottom to top, says "KRAP".

He's getting to be a good reader. We'll work on the directional stuff another day.

Random April Fun

This is a dance show waiting to happen. Notice the small red boom box at the bottom, the blanket 'stage', and the stuffed animal audience on their chairs on the couch. Who do you think the featured performer was?

On Easter we took a lovely walk at the Jamaica Bay Bird Sanctuary. Simon walked/ran the entire 1.5 mile loop.

We saw many interesting things- lots of beautiful birds (not pictured)- some cool bones (yes, we used hand sanitizer)-

and tiny pine cones.

Easter

After a enthusiatic egg-hunt (could it have been the jelly-beans and chocolate?) we dyed eggs.

They came out beautifully.

And then we ate them!

Yum!

Passover

Doesn't everyone get gifts for passover? Simon got a belated b-day gift and Iva got to play with the wrapping paper.

It was a Lite-Brite. (Ah- memories!) The Seder was fun- not calm or orderly but very yummy!

Cool Boys

Simon had a great play-date with his best friend Zachary. We went to the park and played baseball. (Very challenging for 4 year olds to use a glove.)

We blew bubbles after a picnic.

And explored in the woods.

It was lots of fun!
