Half Of Brooklyn

Why is Simon holding up a Go Daddy sign?

Because Will ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon today!  He ran a smart race he feels very happy with. 1:51:59.  This puts him in a great place to recover and start getting ready for marathon number 2.

After the race we enjoyed Luna park where we ran into an old friend of Simon's.

Home Projects

We've been enjoying a few calm projects recently…

Planting some vegetables that Simon bought.
Full disclosure- I encouraged him NOT to buy veggie plants as we have no where to grow them, but he's persistent and Will is willing to help out.

The garden.

Simon also created a great book with stencils he got from Grandma and Grandpa.

You will notice that Simon is wearing his favorite clothes- nightgowns.  If anyone ever finds a lovely and not too girly nightgown in a child's size 14, feel free to send to us.

Mother's Day

We love our Mothers.  All of them.  So a big hooray for Sue, Jean, Stephanie, Judy, and Julia!

As is becoming a tradition- we went hiking for Mother's Day.  This panorama represents about 270 degrees on the Timp Torn trail in the Anthony Wayne Recreation area.

The hike was full of fun rocks- here Simon squeezes through a narrow passage.

And climbs a very steep scramble.

It was a wonderful way to spend a day together as a family.

A Lovely Weekend Visit

Grand Sue and Grandpa Steve came to visit.
We had a good time exploring Jamica Bay and checking out how the hurricane changed some of our favorite places.  Here we are at the bird sanctuary.

And at Jacob Riis Beach.

We also went to the Met.  Simon really seemed to like the architecture and the *ahem* sculpture.

Then there was fun in Central Park- which included a show...

And cherry trees.
