Spring Flowers

We know he's a big tough kid- but he also has a sensitive side.

This was taken almost by mistake today at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. I love this photo especially because it is lilacs, and we're not sure when Simon will get to the lilacs in Rochester. But this way they are a part of his history too.

Coney Island (3rd Installment)

And what Coney Island be with out greasy food?
Pizza...

Fries, fried clams, onion rings, chicken fingers... (in the corner)

Corn... wait- that's not so greasy.

Basically, this face tells the story of how much fun we all had today.

Coney Island (2nd Installment)

Daddy and Simon braved the freezing cold water. Simon could have stayed in for much longer, but Daddy's poor feet were cold enough.

(We think this shirt is one of the cutest things ever- or could it be Simon?)

Coney Island (1st installment)

On this beautiful day we went to Coney Island to have some fun! The rides at Deno's were just right for Simon.
The Carousel...

The Train...

Oops- Mama couldn't ride this ride with Simon- too bad, it was big trucks.

The Whales...

And sadly not pictured because we all rode together, The Tilt-a-Whirl!

Trains, Buses, and Simon!

We had a great trip to the New York City Transit museum with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Steve.

Simon got to try out lots of different turnstyles. He only bonked himslef in the head a couple of times.

He also got to drive the bus. Hey, who's the doofy passenger with out exact change? Daddy!

On a train from the 1920's.

Simon was so excited by the whole thing he talked trains the rest of the day and even dreamed about them, telling us a 5:15 AM the next morning, "More trains, more trains, more trains!"

Seder Silly

We had a lovely Seder at Gr'aunt Erica and Gr'uncle Peter's house. It wasn't a seder that set out to be silly, just happy. Of course, Simon is silly most of the time so the Seder was no exception.

Who else was upside down for their Seder?

Looking for the afikomen.

Found it! Hey- this thing isn't as cool as those eggs with little bits of chocolate in them! Actually it was a pretty good afikomen because Simon got a cool present for finding it.

It was a lovely evening, but we failed to take a picture of Simon's massively messy face, hands, shirt, and pants after eating Sarah's delicious chocolate cake. Gr'uncle Peter nearly had a heart attack thinking about Simon running around the apartment like that. Don't worry, we had a full change of clothes.

Oops, we cut it again.

OK. We have now officially learned that we should not cut Simon's hair our selves any more. Ever. Some things are best left to the professionals. Simon, we are very very very sorry.

April Doings

Who could that be in the bed?

Surprise! Simon and Daddy are there!

Simon sent his first letter. He drew it, helped fold it, put the sticker (stamp) on, and then took it to the mailbox. It was quite a process. Don't worry Grandma Jean and Pa-pa Don, you'll get a letter too soon.

Looking cute- for the last time as you'll soon see.
