More Of Memorial Day

We went to the beach! And following our grand tradition of always doing things early, we got there at 9:07. Look carefully at the beach in the background.

Simon was VERY hapy to be there- he ran straight to the water and played and played. There were brief breaks to make sand castles and eat.

Simon developed a game where he would jump up and land in a sitting postion in the shallow water- he claimed that this did not hurt. We decided to believe him since he was having so much fun. We also all went out deep and played in the swells. Simon was very brave.

And finally we left at 1:45- check out how crowded the beach had gotten! And this picture was toward the less dense part! It was an amazing day.

It Is Out!

Look what happened mere minutes ago!

Simon is super excited about the tooth fairy coming. So are we- we hope Simon will still sleep because the tooth fairy only comes when you are asleep.

Memorial Day Weekend So Far

Simon was very tired last night and wanted all his friends with him- this is how he fell asleep. Purple guy is Kasoogi, under him is Rhoda the Red Panda, Rhodas tail is around Gloria the Lemur, above her is Owly, and if you look very carefully between Owly and Gloria you can see the smallest part of Star Bears foot.

And we took another wonderful hike this morning. Simon looks very worried in this picture but he loved the hike, we saw all kinds of cool little animals, dragon flies, ants, beetles, frogs, toads, squirrels, and chipmunks. Teatown Lake Reservation is an amazing little nature center where we never fail to have a good time.

Dance Class

We got to watch another of Simon's dance classes. He really enjoys them.

Slingshot Ride Makes A Child Laugh

So I didn't keep you in suspense for very long. Sorry about the buzzing at the start- don't worry, it goes away at launch. Two things you should know; Simon and Mama had just walked out of a short movie at the aquarium because it was too scary. It was clips from Happy Feet. Really. And- Mama cannot wait to do this again- she hasn't asked Simon since she wants to get Will on it. It seems like a great date activity. Anyone willing to babysit?

Big Swing at Luna Park

Simon decided to narrate our entire ride on this very high swing ride- it is often hard to hear because of the wind, but try, there are a few gems in there. One of my favs is when he says that Luna park is, "one of our favorite places- more favorite than the whole universe."

Tickler Ride

How Many Halves Make A Whole?

Will ran his third 1/2 marathon today- 1 hour 43 minutes.

We are super proud of him and now the countdown to the Marathon really begins.

Not sure if this fully qualifies as swimming because there is a floaty belt involved, but Simon's pretty darn happy about it!

Excitement In Our House

Simon got his leg braces today. The daytime orthotic (sp?) is very small and will fit in most shoes. Too bad summer is starting ans Simon will really want to be barefoot and in sandals a lot. Please help encourage him to help is body get strong and healthy and keep wearing his inserts.

At night he wears boot like braces that are lightweight, but pretty big and tight. he went to bed with them on really well tonight, though we can tell he is a bit confused by the whole thing.

And now the big news...

A loose tooth! He's pointing right to it.

Weekend Fun

Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue came to visit for a very full weekend of fun. We wen tot the show Imagineocean- It was perfect for Simon- below you see him meeting some of the characters. He told them all how he was going to go home and do the shoe himself.

We also had lots of fun with Peter, Erica, Jesse, Sarah, and Iva. We went to the Natural History museum adn played in a the playground. Simon helped push iva in the swing.

The Boy Loves Flowers

Simon Is Sick

But you can't tell from these pictures. Simon often gets sick with a fever- and he is really sick, but he still has energy. So I decided to get him out of the house a bit. We went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where the cherry blossoms were peeking and the petals just starting to drop. It was magical.

We aslo found a wonderful art installment- some video will follow.

Seder

Posting a little late- our Seder at Peter and Erica's was wonderful. We celebrated all sorts of acheivments; Cousin Jesse had just won a Pulitzer and Simon and Iva found a great hiding place.
