Maine Vacation (6)
We took an amazing family hike. We went about 1.5 miles but the truly great part was how well Simon handled serious vertical. He loved it. He scrambled up and down rocks like a pro. (OK, a pro who needed to hold hands for safety sometimes.) And the best part was how he said, "It's really good we took a hike today.'"
You'll have to look carefully to find Simon in this one!
And then we went to the Union Fair!!! Here is how Simon feels about the fair.

Maine Vacation (1)
(First off- we also went to Cape Cod. But since Julia was not so smart and left the camera memory card in the printer- we have no pictures from that yet. Soon we will have a few from Peter and Erica and off of our phones.)
And now... Maine!
We went for a 2 mile (!) walk out a breakwater to a lighthouse.
Simon danced at an open air concert.
Simon made a friend (from our neighborhood in Brooklyn) and there was lots of splashing.

More Beach Time
Great Beach Day with Snarrs
We spent a wonderful evening on the beach with the Snarrs. It involved lots of looking for animals at low tide.
Simon followed the girls (Hannah, Megan and Alison) example of fearlessness in handling the animals and got brave enough to pick up several too.
We all examined things together- including hermit crabs, sand crabs, a pipe fish, snails, horse shoe crabs and...
the smallest sea star I have ever seen.
