Simon often likes helping prepare the fish more than he likes eating it.

Yes- really. We did frolic on the beach today. That's what you do when it gets near 90 degrees.

(And yes, we know that if we tried Simon's outfit couldn't clash more. We are very proud.)

Sorry about the poor quality- this is off Will's cell phone. We have torn the house apart- literally- moved furniture, pulled up carpeting, sorted through trash and can not find the memory card I dropped. We will have a few more pictures to share from Don and Jean's camera and some that a ranch volunteer sent us- but pickin's are slim.

However- This photo does sum up the experience.

Simon got his hands on watercolors and paintbrush at Benjamin's birthday party. Once he was shown how to dip his brush in the water, he painted this all by himself (says the proud dad).

What Spring Means to the Garlands

Many people think of flowers- others think of baseball- our family thinks of THE CAROUSEL! Today was the opening day for the Prospect Park Carousel and despite cold winds we went to ride and say hello to our friend Lucio.
















And, as usual, the carousel was followed by a trip to the zoo where we discovered a new kind of turtle.
